As pointed out by the AV club, SCIENCE has proven that vinyl records are better than MP3s… sort of, anyways. In a study conducted by the Audio Engineering Library, the lowered compression and fidelity of MP3s results in a less positive emotional effects on listeners, compared to vinyl records. Similarly, negative emotional effects were increased when listening to MP3s. However, the study did not compare albums that were "mastered for iTunes" specifically against their vinyl album counterparts. Read the whole report right here.
